A near miss yields materials... Lets build a Gorge!!!.

The Fort Wayne flood of 2003, St. Mary's river sets a new high water record. This picture shows the intersection that is the only way out of my neighborhood... :(
The pump and sand bags have finally arrived from the City... At least one day late... Too late to save about 10 homes on the right but just in time to save many more on the left... And a mandatory evacuation of about 100 homes.

I had been wondering what I was going to use to build up the expansion area....
Well, the City of Fort Wayne and my neighbor made a donation... :)
I collected more than 250 sandbags and decided to build a gorge along the front side of the new wall.
Aug. 8, The bags made it easy to layout the stream's course and to build up instead of digging down
